Stultz began his career in the electrical steel field at a rolling mill operation, serving in various positions focused on shipping, welding, inspections, and the operation of cranes. In 1985, he began his criminal justice career with the Commonwealth, following as a deputy sheriff with the Botetourt County Sheriff's Office and performed duties ranging from investigations to patrol. As a school resource and professional standards officer, Mr. Stultz liaised with various entities, including citizens, school boards, community groups, and local businesses. He received recognition for his efforts through multiple MADD awards for enforcement and prevention of driving-under-the-influence cases. David L. Stultz is a longstanding member of the Police Benevolent Association and the Fraternal Order of Police and maintains an interest in corrections and emergency management.
